Crab Xec Xec

It’s another goan cuisine n ma Princess’s all time favorite too.

Ingredients:

Crabs (medium) โ€“ 4-6 (steamed and cleaned ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Grated coconut โ€“ 1/2 cup

Kashmiri red chilies โ€“ 5-6ย  (Kashmiri chilies are not spicy, less if you are using any other dry red chilies)

ginger & garlic paste โ€“ 1 tsp

Onion โ€“ 1 medium

Cumin seeds โ€“ 1 tsp

Coriander seeds โ€“ 1 tsp

Pepper corns โ€“ 4-5

Cloves โ€“ 3-4

Turmeric powder โ€“ 1/2 tsp

Tamarind paste โ€“ 2 Tbl spoons

Salt โ€“ to taste

Oil โ€“ 2 Tbl spoons

Method :

Roast cumin & coriander seeds and add coconut, red chillies, pepper corns, cloves, cloves and tamarind and grind to a paste (Add a little water if needed).

Heat oil in a pan and add slices onions to it. Add ginger & garlic paste once the onions turn golden brown. Add the ginger & garlic paste, salt, turmeric and fry for couple ofย  minutes.

Add the crabs and mix well and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes. Add the spice paste and 1/2 cup of water and cook for 8-10 minutes.

Increase the flame and cook until the gravy thickens. Serve with hot rice.
