◇ King Fish Curry ◇



1 lemon cut into 4 pieces

2 medium sized King fish, (cut into long slices)

Salt to taste

Water as required

1 onion, finely sliced

4 green chillies, sliced

For the Masala:

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp turmeric powder

6 garlic flakes

8 red chillies

1 Tbsp coriander seeds

1 coconut, grated

1 1/2 inch round ball tamarind, soaked in water.


Method :


Marinate the fish with salt, 1/2 of the turmeric and juice of 2 pieces of lemon for minimum 10 minutes.

Grind all the masalas together. Add a little bit of water to make it a smooth paste.

Put frying pan on gas and transfer the masala paste into it. Add the onions, remaining turmeric powder, salt and green chillies. Add 1 1/2 cup water. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 minutes.

Now add the marinated fish. Cook for another 5 to 7 minutes.



Serve hot with rice.
